The Engineering materials diffractometer, TAKUMI has finished its construction in Materials and Life Science Experimental Facility (MLF), Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (J-PARC) and began its operations from September 2008. TAKUMI is located at poisoned-decoupled-moderator beamline 19 in MLF and has two 90 degree detector banks which are installed with ENGIN-X type scintillator detectors. The best value of the resolution d/d is less than 0.2%. TAKUMI has a room temperature loading machine, a dilatometer (or 1273 K furnace) and a high temperature (up to 1273 K) loading device, and a low temperature (below 10 K) loading machine is developed during 2010 FY. We have con-ducted one instrumental group use which is to develop the residual stress analysis, two project uses including the optimization study of superconducting wires and the high pressure devices developments, and several general uses.
