In the present study, we applied 20% cold work treatment to the JPCA austenitic steel and investigated it from the corrosion behavior viewpoint. The cold worked-JPCA was tested in JLBL-1 corrosion test apparatus with 450$$^{circ}$$C of Pb-Bi for 1000 hours. As for comparison analysis, JPCA steel without cold working was also tested in the same time and condition. The results showed that Pb-Bi penetrated into the matrix of JPCA steel without cold working through a ferrite layer which was formed because of nickel and chromium dissolution. As for the cold worked-JPCA, dissolution attack occurred partially and formed localized superficial pitting corrosion. Therefore, the cold working circumscribed a dissolution attack by Pb-Bi. It was found that the different corrosion behavior occurred because the cold working induced structure transformation of the austenitic. By using MFM (Magnetic Force Microscope), magnetization of the cold worked-JPCA was revealed.
