Defect-fluorite oxides; Ln (Eu and Gd) Mssbauer study coupled with new defect-crystal-chemistry model

To gain further insight into the controversial defect structure of so-called defect-fluorite (DF)-type oxide solid solutions (ss), MO-LnO (M= Zr, Hf, Ce, Th, U, Pu, etc; Ln=lanthanide) we have conducted their comprehensive Ln (Eu and Gd) Mssbauer, EXAFs and NMR etc spectroscopic and XRD study freshly combined with a new defect-fluorite-chemistry model recently proposed by one (AN) of the present authors. In this talk some latest achievements of this study is described and discussed.
