東京電力福島第一原子力発電所の解体・更地化の際、溶融燃料中の核物質の計量管理を求められる可能性がある。取り出された溶融燃料は、形状や大きさ、さらに構成要素やその割合がわからないので、核物質の定量は非常に難しいと考えられる。またそのため、定量方法は決められていない。本講演では、中性子共鳴濃度分析法(Neutron Resonance Densitometry (NRD))による粒子状溶融燃料中の核物質測定を提案する。この手法は、Neutron Resonance Transmission Analysis (NRTA)とNeutron Resonance Capture Analysis (NRCA)もしくはPrompt Gamma ray Analysis (PGA)の2つの手法を組合せたもので、パルス中性子源を装備した飛行時間法(TOF)測定装置を用いる。

The melted fuel (MF) of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant of the Tokyo Electric Power Company will be taken out to dismantle the reactors. At that time, quantification of nuclear materials (NM) in the melted fuel (MF) is probably required. Quantification of NMs in debris is, however, considered to be difficult because of their variety of size, shape and unknown compositions. Consequently, quantification methods have not been established so far. In this paper, we propose a method, neutron resonance densitometry (NRD), for quantification of NMs in particle like debris of MF. Techniques of neutron resonance transmission analysis (NRTA) and neutron resonance capture analysis (NRCA) or prompt $$gamma$$ ray analysis (PGA) are combined. A time of flight (TOF) system is introduced for the measurements.
