Development of a software platform for providing environmental monitoring data for the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident

原子力災害が発生した際は、放射性物質の拡散が想定されるため、広域にわたる環境モニタリングの実施が重要であり、さらにその災害対策や現状把握を迅速に行うべく、それらモニタリング結果をできるだけ早く公開することが重要である。そのためには、これら環境モニタリングの実施やその結果の迅速な公開を支援するシステム開発が不可欠である。そこで我々は、東京電力福島第一原子力発電所事故の経験に基づき、環境モニタリング・情報処理・ネットワークコミュニケーションの技術を統合したソフトウェア基盤を構築した。

In nuclear emergencies, it is especially important to carry out environmental monitoring over a wide range and provide the data immediately so as to understand the current distribution of radionuclides and investigate countermeasures. Therefore, it is indispensable for a nuclear emergency response to establish a system that supports rapid provision of these data. We have been developing the software platform by integrating technologies of environmental monitoring, information processing, and network communication, based on the experience of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Accident.
