Experimental and numerical studies for understanding of radon emanation in environmental materials

環境試料におけるラドン散逸の理解に向けた実験的・数値的研究

ラドン被ばくに至るまでの最初の過程「ラドン散逸」について、多くの研究が実験的・解析的になされてきた。今回、我々は多くの環境試料(1000件超)を対象にレビューを行い、各種環境試料のラドン散逸能の代表値や測定方法などについて議論した。また、散逸過程を数値的に解析することで、環境因子が及ぼす影響についても検討した。この結果、一部の因子では測定と解析データ間で傾向の不一致もみられ、今後のさらなる検討が求められることが示された。

Numerous studies have experimentally and numerically been made to understand the first process "radon emanation" leading to radon exposure. We made an extensive review of previous emanation measurements, including our results, for more than a thousand samples. The discussion was made with respect to issues such as the representative values of radon emanation fraction for environmental materials and the measurement method. In addition, we have numerically simulated the emanation process to investigate the impacts of environmental factors. The discrepancies between the observed and calculated data were seen depending on a factor, which should be studied further in the future.
