Separation and recovery of radioactive ions by metal-organic-frameworks

In this study, we synthesized series of MOFs with the formula of (NH$$_{4}$$)[Ln(C$$_{2}$$O$$_{4}$$)$$_{2}$$(HO] (Ln = Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb) to remove radioactive ions from solution. And we investigated the behavior of ion uptake by changing the host metals. Moreover, we tried a new radioactive ion recovery cycle by recovering the radioactive ions from the MOF and the starting MOF from the resulting MOFs.
