High field phase diagram of the heavy-fermion metal CeIn; A Pulsed magnetic field NMR study

重い電子系化合物CeInでは45Tの高磁場下でフェルミ面の異常が現れることが知られていた。この異常の起源を探るため我々は良質な単結晶試料においてパルス強磁場下のNMR研究を行った。その結果、45Tの前後で内部磁場および電場勾配に全く変化がないことを確認した。このことはフェルミ面の異常が単なる磁気構造の変化によるものではないことを明らかにしている。

CeIn exhibits a field-induced anomaly in the Fermi surface at about 45 T. In order to investigate the origin of this anomaly, a pulsed magnetic field NMR experiment has been performed using a high quality singe crystal. We confirmed that there is no obvious change in the hyperfine fields and electric field gradient at In sites through 45 T. This excludes a simple explanation of the anomaly as due to field-induced change of magnetic structure above 45 T.
