Artificial pinning centers (APC) in rare-earth barium copper oxide (REBCO) tapes have been characterized by anomalous small-angle X-ray scattering (ASAXS). As Zr is distributed only in the APC, the scattering from the APC can be separated using ASAXS measurements at Zr K absorption edge. The ASAXS successfully provided the distance between the APC and the average diameter of the APC. The results confirmed that ASAXS is useful for the characterization of APC.
