Improvements to DCHAIN-SP and its data libraries

DCHAIN-SP, the radionuclide build-up and decay code distributed alongside and used with the PHITS particle transport code, currently does not propagate statistical uncertainties from values calculated in PHITS through its own calculations, allowing for misinterpretation of results as being of high statistical clarity regardless of whether that is the case. This work resolves this concern by implementing statistical uncertainty propagation functionality. Additionally, DCHAIN-SP relies on fairly dated data libraries-decay data from 1980s and 1990s evaluations and neutron reaction cross sections from a 2005 evaluation-which have now been modernized to evaluations from the past five years. The presentation will highlight some of the improvements these modern libraries have over the older ones. DCHAIN-SP has not had major development in years, particularly concerning its data libraries, and this presentation will alert past and potential future users that this code is being updated.
