In the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, cutting and removing the fuel debris which is mixed with boride has been challenging. A high performance analytical technique, laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) having a powerful wavelength resolution that can simultaneously measure from light elements (especially boron and oxygen) to heavy elements metal elements, and is expected to precisely discriminate the elements and identify the material based on its elemental composition ratio. In this study, we present that the composite analysis method combined multivariate analysis with LIBS, and its applicability of the compositional distribution of melted material.
