シンチレータ中性子検出器の大面積化

MLFのBL18用の2次元中性子検出器の大面積化を進めている。BL18は単結晶中性子構造解析用の中性子回折装置であり、現在は試料周りに有感面積256256mm、ピクセルサイズ4mmの2次元検出器が41台装填され、測定効率の向上が図られている。本発表では、SENJUの真空散乱槽下への設置用として開発した従来比で22倍サイズをもつ検出器(有感面積512512mm)やバンク設置用として開発した13倍サイズをもつ検出器(有感面積256768mm)をはじめとする2次元シンチレータ中性子検出器の大面積化について紹介する。

We have been developing larger area 2-D neutron detectors for BL18 at MLF, which is a neutron diffractometer for single crystal neutron structural analysis. 41 2-D detectors with a sensitive area of 256256 mm and a pixel size of 4 mm are currently installed around the sample to improve the measurement efficiency. In this presentation, we will introduce two detectors with 22 larger than the conventional ones (512512 mm) developed for installation under the vacuum scattering chamber of SENJU and one with 13 larger (256768 mm) developed for installation in a detector bank of SENJU.
