Japan Atomic Energy Agency is developing an innovative design system named ARKADIA to achieve the design of an advanced nuclear reactor as a safe, economic, and sustainable carbon-free energy source. In the first phase of its development, ARKADIA-Design for design study and ARKADIA-Safety for safety assessment will be developed individually. In this paper, focusing on the ARKADIA-Design, the concept of the system is described and numerical analysis codes to be used for the multi-level and multi-physics analyses are introduced. Descriptions of the practical functions composed by the analysis codes and the representative problems in application studies for validation are introduced.

Times Cited Count:14 Percentile:65.87(Chemistry, Analytical)Liquid-liquid extraction for the removal of pertechnetate (TcO) and perrhenate (ReO) is reported using tripodal extractant -hexa--octylnitrilotriacetamide (HONTA) composed of three amide groups and a tertiary amine. The extraction behavior was compared with those using alkyldiamideamines (ADAAM(Oct) and ADAAM(EH)), and the commercial amine-type extractant, trioctylamine (TOA). HONTA quantitatively extracted TcO and ReO in the pH range from 1.0 to 2.5 by co-extraction of protons. Extraction performance of extractants was improved in the order of HONTA ADAAM(Oct) ADAAM(EH) TOA. TcO and ReO in the extracting phase were successfully stripped using neutral aqueous solutions as the receiving phase, and the extraction ability of HONTA was maintained after five repeated uses.

When these polymers were irradiated by a pump pulse with fluence above the ablation threshold of 0.8-2.0 J/cm, we observed the oscillation of the reflectivity caused by the interference between the reflected probe pulses from the sample surface and the thin layer due to the non-thermal photomechanical effects of spallation. As the fluence of the pump pulse increased, the separation velocity of the thin layer increased from 6 km/s to an asymptotic value of 11 km/s. It is suggested that the velocities are determined by shock-wave velocities of the photo-excited layer.
