Single crystal growth and magnetic property of UNiSb

私達は、自己フラックス法により反強磁性体UNiSbの単結晶育成に成功した。磁化率は、準2次元正方晶の結晶構造を反映して、高い異方性があることがわかった。磁化容易軸は軸であることもわかった。この結果は、中性子散乱実験の結果とも一致している。

We have succeeded in growing a single crystal of an antiferromagnet UNiSb by the self-flux method. The magnetic susceptibility is found to be highly anisotropic, reflecting the quasi-two dimensional tetragonal crystal structure. The magnetic easy-axis is determined as the [001] direction, consistent with the result of the neutron scattering experiments.
