Effects of glutathione to cadmium transport and accumulation in oilseed rape plants (${it Brassica napus}$ L.)

We investigated effects of GSH to Cd transport and accumulation when GSH was administered to specific organs. Plants were grown hydroponically in a green house and were treated with Cd and GSH. After 2-day treatment, we visualized Cd movement in plants using the position-emitting tracer imaging system (PETIS). Reduction of Cd transport and accumulation by GSH, administered to roots, was also confirmed by serial images of Cd movement, obtained by PETIS. Our results demonstrated that effects of GSH to Cd transport and accumulation in the plants were different in the organs where GSH was administered.
