Extraction chromatography method was applied to the chemical separation of alpha nuclides, Th, U, Pu, and Am, in metal waste; UTEVA resin (for uranium and tetravalent actinide) for the analysis of Th and U, and TRU resin (for trans uranium resin) for the analysis of Pu and Am. Schemes of extraction chromatography were optimized to analyze metal waste containing lots of Fe. Actual metal wastes were analyzed with the optimized methods and good recovery more than 90% was obtained.
