$$gamma$$線照射後のアルミナ添加硫酸水溶液中の過酸化水素と発生した水素ガスの測定

純水,硫酸水溶液並びにアルミナ粉末添加の純水,硫酸水溶液において、Co-60$$gamma$$線照射で発生する水素ガスと過酸化水素を測定し、放出された水素ガスと水溶液中に残存する過酸化水素の関係を調べた。その結果、無添加の場合と比較して、アルミナ粉末添加による水溶液中の過酸化水素量の減少と放出された水素ガス収量の増加には相関性があることがわかった。一般に、水溶液中の過酸化水素は水素ガスの生成を阻害する。今回の実験結果は、酸化物を水溶液に添加することで過酸化水素の濃度が減少し、放出水素ガス量の増加に結びついた、と推測できる。

The amounts of hydrogen peroxide produced by $$gamma$$ irradiation in aqueous and aqueous sulfuric acid solutions containing alumina powder were measured and compared with the results of relevant hydrogen gas production yields. The amounts of hydrogen peroxide were strongly depressed when alumina powders were added to the solutions and the hydrogen production yields were correlatively increased with increasing the amount of added alumina powder. The hydrogen peroxide generally hinders the formation of hydrogen gas in aqueous solutions. Our experimental results suggest that the addition of oxide in aqueous solutions induced the reduction of the concentration of peroxide by which the amounts of emitted hydrogen gas were increased.
