The Josephson critical current I
between a single-crystal UPt and Al has been measured for the junctions on the UPt surface perpendicular to the hexagonal axes. The obtained results contradict the 
scenario for the odd-parity order parameter in UPt, in which the Josephson effect is forbidden in the three directions, whereas the recently proposed 
scenario permits, at least, the 
- and 
-axis Josephson couplings.
