The corium debris solidified at lower bottom of pressure vessel is considered to consist of fuel assembly and BC control rod. In this work the mixture of BC, stainless steel, Zr and (U,Zr)O was arc-melted to simulate the corium debris. Phases in the solidified specimen were characterized by XRD and SEM/EDX analyses. As for the chemical form of boron, borides such as (Fe,Cr)B and ZrB precipitate in the alloy phase. A part of uranium in (U,Zr)O dissolves into the alloy phase to form Fe-Cr-Ni-Zr-U alloy in various composition. Further, Vickers hardness of some typical phases in the specimen was measured. Vickers hardness of (Fe,Cr)B and ZrB are 1400-1650 and 1600-1950, respectively, which are quite higher than that of the (U,Zr)O phase around 1200.
