$$^{149}$$Sm SR-based M$"{o}$ssbauer and muon spin relaxation ($$mu^+$$SR) spectroscopies have been applied to Sm$$_3$$Ru$$_4$$Ge$$_{13}$$. The temperature dependence of the $$^{149}$$Sm SR-based M$"{o}$ssbauer spectra in the paramagnetic state implies the presence of dynamical nuclear Zeeman and/or quadrupole interactions. The time differential $$mu^+$$SR spectra also exhibit a marked temperature dependence in the paramagnetic state, indicating the presence of magnetic fluctuation in Sm$$_3$$Ru$$_4$$Ge$$_{13}$$ at least. These results in the present work infer that the dynamical hyperfine interactions observed using the mutually complementary spectroscopic methods are connected with the mechanism of the heavy fermion behavior in Sm$$_3$$Ru$$_4$$Ge$$_{13}$$.

We report on muon spin relaxation ($$mu^+$$SR) measurements in a mixed perovskite compound, (LaAlO$$_3$$)$$_{x}$$(SrAl$$_{0.5}$$Ta$$_{0.5}$$O$$_3$$)$$_{1-x}$$ with $$xsimeq 0.3$$ (LSAT), which is widely used as a single-crystalline substrate for thin film deposition. In zero applied field (ZF), muon depolarization due to the distribution of nuclear dipole fields was observed in the temperature range from 4 K to 270 K. Interestingly, $$mu^+$$SR time spectra in ZF maintained a Gaussian-like feature over the entire range, while the depolarization rate exhibited a monotonic decrease with increasing temperature. This behavior may be attributed to the thermally activated diffusion of muons between a few adjacent sites within a confined space of the angstrom scale, where the motionally averaged local field that each muon experiences can remain non-zero and result in maintaining the Gaussian-like line shape. The spatial distribution of electrostatic potential at lattice interstices evaluated via density functional theory calculations suggests that such a restriction of muon diffusion paths can be caused by the random distribution of cations with different nominal valences in the mixed perovskite lattice.

$$^{149}$$Sm synchrotron-radiation-based M$"{o}$ssbauer spectroscopy has been applied to Sm-based heavy fermion intermetallics, Sm$$Tr_2$$Al$$_{20}$$ ($$Tr$$ = Ti, V and Cr) and SmOs$$_{4}$$Sb$$_{12}$$. The isomer shifts obtained demonstrate that the Sm valence states in these compounds are intermediate. Since the difference of the isomer shifts in 22.502 keV $$^{149}$$Sm M$"{o}$ssbauer effect between Sm$$^{2+}$$ and Sm$$^{3+}$$ state is comparable to the 2nd order Doppler shift, consideration of the 2nd order Doppler shift is required to precisely discuss Sm valence state through the shifts of the M$"{o}$ssbauer spectra. In addition, the plots of the isomer shifts obtained by the M$"{o}$ssbauer spectroscopy against the Sm valence states estimated from Sm L-edge X-ray absorption spectroscopy exhibit a linear correlation except for that in SmOs$$_4$$Sb$$_{12}$$. This implies that the origin of the intermediate valence state in SmOs$$_4$$Sb$$_{12}$$ differs from that in Sm$$Tr_2$$Al$$_{20}$$ ($$Tr$$ = Ti, V and Cr).

本稿では、時系列画像から3次元モデルを効率的に生成するための画像選択法を導入した立体復元処理について述べる。効率的な立体復元に適した画像を得るために、時系列画像中の冗長画像を除去する画像選択法の適用を試みた。提案手法では、オプティカルフローと固定しきい値に基づいて、時系列画像から適切な画像を選択する。その結果、提案手法により、カメラで取得した時系列画像に基づく立体復元処理の計算量を削減することができた。その結果、立体復元精度を一定に保ったまま、立体復元処理の計算量を削減できることを確認した。

This paper describes a method for integrating multiple dense point clouds using a shared landmark to generate a single real-scale integrated result for photogrammetry. It is difficult to integrate high-density point clouds reconstructed by photogrammetry because the scale differs with each photogrammetry. To solve this problem, this study places a QR code of known sizes, which is a shared landmark, in the reconstruction target environment and divides the reconstruction target environment based on the position of the QR code that is placed. Then, photogrammetry is performed for each divided environment to obtain each high-density point cloud. Finally, we propose a method of scaling each high-density point cloud based on the size of the QR code and aligning each high-density point cloud as a single high-point cloud by partial-to-partial registration. To verify the effectiveness of the method, this paper compares the results obtained by applying all images to photogrammetry with those obtained by the proposed method in terms of accuracy and computation time. In this verification, ideal images generated by simulation and images obtained in real environments are applied to photogrammetry. We clarify the relationship between the number of divided environments, the accuracy of the reconstruction result, and the computation time required for the reconstruction.

Measurements of $$gamma$$-ray circular polarization emitted from neutron capture reactions provide valuable information for nuclear physics studies. The spin and parity of excited states can be determined by measuring the circular polarization from polarized neutron capture reactions. Furthermore, the $$gamma$$-ray circular polarization in a neutron capture resonance is crucial for studying the enhancement effect of parity nonconservation in compound nuclei. The $$gamma$$-ray circular polarization can be measured using a polarimeter based on magnetic Compton scattering. A polarimeter was constructed, and its performance indicators were evaluated using a circularly polarized $$gamma$$-ray beam. Furthermore, as a demonstration, the $$gamma$$-ray circular polarization was measured in $$^{32}$$S(n,$$gamma$$)$$^{33}$$S reactions with polarized neutrons.

写真測量法は、対象物を撮影した複数の画像から3次元的に復元する技術である。実際の撮影では、対象物を撮影するカメラの画角に振動が発生し、写真測量に適した画像を撮影できず、対象物を復元できない場合がある。そこで、この振動をシミュレーション上で乱数を用いて実装し、振動の大きさが写真測量法で得られる復元結果に与える影響を検証した。検証の結果、振動の大きさと3次元復元の成功率との関係が示された。

理化学研究所RIビームファクトリーにて中性子過剰核$$^{50}$$Arビームからの1中性子ノックアウト反応実験を行い、$$^{49}$$Arのエネルギー準位および分光学的因子を導出した。特に、第一励起状態の$$1/2^-$$への分光学的因子が大きいことから、始状態の$$^{50}$$Arの基底状態において中性子が$$p_{1/2}$$軌道を多く占めていることがわかった。これは、中性子数32がよい魔法数として知られる$$^{52}$$Caとは異なった性質であり、カルシウムからアルゴンへと陽子が2個減ることで閉殻構造が大きく崩れることが明らかになった。

Low-vanadium-concentration alloys have low durability, and their hydrogen absorption and desorption amounts decrease by 20% after 100 cycles. In this study, we conducted reverse Monte Carlo modeling on X-ray diffraction patterns and neutron pair distribution functions of the hydrogen-absorbed and desorbed samples of a V$$_{0.10}$$Ti$$_{0.36}$$Cr$$_{0.54}$$ alloy to analyze the variations in the local structure. The local structure surrounding the hydrogen atom in the hydrogen-absorbed phase exhibited minimal changes. In contrast, hydrogen occupied both tetrahedral and octahedral sites of the hydrogen-desorbed phase almost equally during the early cycles; however, the amount of hydrogen occupying the tetrahedral sites increased with the number of cycles.

The direct alkylation of benzenes with simple alkanes is one of the ideal processes for the production of alkylbenzenes. We demonstrated that Pd nanoparticles on the outer surface of H-ZSM-5 are efficient catalysts for direct alkylation. The reaction proceeds through the activation of an alkane on the acid sites present inside the zeolite pores. This process is followed by the nucleophilic addition of an arene to the activated alkane. The spillover of the abstracted hydrogen atoms from the acid sites to the Pd nanoparticles on the outer surface accelerates recombination to H$$_2$$. A maximum toluene conversion of 58.5% and selectivity of 95.6% for the alkylated products are achieved when toluene is reacted with $$n$$-heptane. ${it Para}$-selective alkylation is achieved, due to the effect of the pore size of H-ZSM-5. The $$mu^+$$SR study of muonium, a pseudo-isotope of hydrogen, in aluminosilicates suggested that the formation of atomic hydrogen is possible and its lifetime is in the sub-microsecond range or longer, which is long enough for chemical reactions.

非常に中性子が過剰な原子核$$^{28}$$Oは、陽子、中性子ともに魔法数であることから古くからその性質に興味が持たれていたが、酸素の最後の束縛核$$^{24}$$Oよりも中性子が4個も多いため、これまで観測されてこなかった。この論文では、理化学研究所RIBFにて$$^{29}$$Fからの1陽子ノックアウト反応によって$$^{28}$$Oを生成し、そこから放出される中性子を測定することによって初めてその観測に成功した。核構造の観点からは、$$^{28}$$Oでは二重閉殻が保たれているか興味が持たれていたが、実験で得られた分光学的因子が殻模型計算で予言されて程度の大きいことから、閉殻構造をもたない可能性が高いことがわかった。

$$^{29}$$Neからの1中性子除去反応を用いて、$$^{28}$$Neの詳細な$$gamma$$線分光を行った。平行運動量分布の解析に基づき、$$^{28}$$Neの準位構造とスピンパリティを決定し、初めて負のパリティ状態を同定した。測定された断面積と運動量分布から、N=20とN=28のシェルギャップの消失の証拠となる有意なintruder p-wave強度が明らかになった。束縛状態については、弱いf-waveの可能性のある強度が観測された。いくつかの有効相互作用を用いた大規模殻模型計算では、実験的に観測された大きなp-wave強度と小さなf-wave強度は再現されず、Ne同位体に沿った反転の島への遷移の完全な理論的記述への挑戦が続いていることを示している。

$$^{57,59}$$Scからの1陽子ノックアウト反応を用いて、$$^{56}$$Caと$$^{58}$$Caのガンマ崩壊を観測した。$$^{56}$$Caでは1456(12)keVの$$gamma$$線遷移が、$$^{58}$$Caでは1115(34)keVの遷移が観測された。どちらの遷移も暫定的に$$2^{+}_{1} rightarrow 0^{+}_{gs}$$と割り当てられた。有効核子間相互作用をわずかに修正した広い模型空間での殻模型計算では、$$2^{+}_{1}$$準位エネルギー、2中性子分離エネルギー、反応断面積が実験とよく一致し、N=34閉殻の上に新しい殻が形成されていることを裏付けた。その構成要素である$$0_{f5/2}$$と$$0_{g9/2}$$軌道はほぼ縮退しており、これは$$^{60}$$Caが二重魔法核である可能性を排除し、Ca同位体のドリップラインを$$^{70}$$Caあるいはそれ以上にまで広げる可能性がある。

We study structural and magnetic properties of rare-earth based semimetals ${it R}$AuGe (${it R}$ = Y, Gd-Tm, and Lu) using flux-grown single crystals. We evaluate the crystal electric field parameters based on the Stevens operators to reasonably reproduce the temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibilities and specific heat for RAuGe (${it R}$ = TbTm). The estimated energy scale of the Ising gap ($$sim$$ 11 meV) in TmAuGe is consistent with an excitation observed in an inelastic neutron scattering experiment. These findings suggest an opportunity for interplay between conduction electrons and nontrivial spin structures in the family of magnetic polar semimetals ${it R}$AuGe.

We investigated the angular correlation of two $$gamma$$-rays emitted in neutron capture at the Materials and Life Science Experimental Facility of J-PARC. The 14 Ge crystals in a cluster detector and one coaxial Ge crystal were employed. We obtained angular correlation functions for two $$gamma$$-rays emerging in the electromagnetic transitions of the capture reactions on $$^{155}$$Gd and $$^{157}$$Gd. We found mild angular correlations for the strong, but rare transitions from the resonance state to two excited levels with known spin and parities. In contrast, angular correlations was negligibly small for arbitrary pairs of two $$gamma$$-rays produced in the majority of transitions in continuum states.

Muon spin rotation ($$mu$$SR) experiments were performed to directly investigate the temperature dependence of the short-range order or correlations of chromium spins in the paramagnetic phase of AgCrSe$$_{2}$$. The detailed investigation of the $$mu$$SR spectra over a wide temperature range from low to high temperatures revealed that the short-range spin correlations developed below about 184 K. It also confirmed no short-range correlations at high temperatures, which had been controversial in previous quasi-elastic neutron scattering studies. In addition, the muon spin relaxation was qualitatively changed and showed large missing asymmetry below about 89 K, where the correlation clearly implied short-range spin order. There could be a preparative phenomenon of the phase transition or an anisotropic short-range spin correlation.
