被引用回数:0 パーセンタイル:0.00(Materials Science, Multidisciplinary)We report the ground-state symmetry of the Ce 4 states in the heavy-fermion superconductor CeNiGe, yielding anisotropic hybridization between the Ce 4 states and conducting electrons. By analyzing linear dichroism in soft X-ray absorption and core-level hard X-ray photoemission spectra, the 4 symmetry is determined as -type , promoting predominant hybridization with the conducting electrons originating from the Ge site. The band structures probed by soft X-ray angle-resolved photoemission indicates that the Ge 4 components contribute to the band renormalization through the anisotropic hybridization effects, suggesting that the control of the electronic structures of Ge orbital gives an impact to achieve the exotic phenomena in CeNiGe.

Given its importance in many cell processes, various experimental and computational methods have been developed to measure the membrane viscosity, yet the estimated values depend highly on the method and vary by orders of magnitude. Here we investigate the molecular origins of membrane viscosity by measuring the nanoscale dynamics of the lipid acyl tails using X-ray and neutron spectroscopy techniques. The results show that the membrane viscosity can be estimated from the structural relaxation times of the lipid tails.

被引用回数:5 パーセンタイル:23.83(Materials Science, Multidisciplinary)We present a detailed study on the ground state symmetry of the pressure-induced superconductor CeCuGe probed by soft X-ray absorption and hard X-ray photoemission spectroscopy. The revised Ce ground states are determined as with in-plane rotational symmetry. This gives an in-plane magnetic moment consistent with the antiferromagnetic moment as reported in neutron measurements. Since the in-plane symmetry is the same as that for the superconductor CeCuSi, we propose that the charge distribution along the -axis plays an essential role in driving the system into a superconducting phase.

被引用回数:10 パーセンタイル:42.27(Multidisciplinary Sciences)We measured the SR Mssbauer spectra of Ni nanoparticles with a hexagonal structure that were synthesized by chemical reduction. To obtain Mssbauer spectra of the nanoparticles without 61-Ni enrichment, we developed a measurement system for Ni SR Mssbauer absorption spectroscopy without X-ray windows between the standard energy alloy and detector. The counting rate of the Ni nuclear resonant scattering in the system was enhanced by the detection of internal conversion electrons and the close proximity between the energy standard and the detector. The spectrum measured at 4 K revealed the internal magnetic field of the nanoparticles was 3.4 T, corresponding to a Ni atomic magnetic moment of 0.3 Bohr magneton. This differs from the value of NiC and the theoretically predicted value of hexagonal closed packed Ni and suggested the nanoparticle possessed intermediate carbon content between hcp-Ni and NiC of approximately 10 atomic percent of Ni.

被引用回数:4 パーセンタイル:33.86(Physics, Multidisciplinary)The Te Mssbauer spectra of FeTe and FeTeSe were measured using synchrotron-radiation-based Mssbauer spectroscopy. The hyper fine field of Te in the antiferromagnetic phase of FeTe was evaluated to be 4(1) T at 20 K, and this hyper fine field is considered to be due to the transferred hyper fine field from Fe magnetic moments. The evaluated hyper fine field was comparatively large, suggesting the strong correlation with the magnetic moment of Fe that forms double stripe type magnetic structure. For the superconductor FeTeSe, no marked change in its Mssbauer parameters was observed below or above the superconducting transition temperature, indicating that the change in the electronic state of Te was small.

被引用回数:21 パーセンタイル:63.92(Physics, Applied)本研究では、核共鳴吸収に伴うX線と電子を同時に検出できる検出器を備えた装置を世界に先駆けて開発し、その装置と大型放射光施設SPring-8の大強度X線を用いて、YbBに含まれるYbの放射光メスバウアースペクトルを測定することに成功した。今後、さまざまな元素の放射光メスバウアー測定が可能になり、レアアース磁石などの磁石材料や錯体・触媒材料・エレクトロニクス材料といった機能性材料の研究に進展がもたらされることが期待できる。本研究の一部は科学研究費補助金・基盤研究S「同位体特定による局所状態解明のための先進的メスバウアー分光法開発」及び研究スタート支援「放射光を用いたネオジム核共鳴散乱法の開発」の補助を受け、SPring-8の利用課題として行われた。

被引用回数:72 パーセンタイル:94.89(Optics)The concept, design, and performance of Japan's compact FEL facilities, the SPring-8 Compact SASE Source test accelerator (SCSS) and SPring-8 Angstrom Compact free electron LAser (SACLA), and their applications are reviewed. At SCSS, intense, ultrafast FEL pulses at extreme ultraviolet (EUV) wavelengths have been utilized for investigating various multiphoton processes in atoms, molecules and clusters by means of ion and electron spectroscopy. The quantum optical effect superfluorescence has been observed with EUV excitation. A pump-probe technique combining FEL pulses with near infrared laser pulses has been realized to study the ultrafast dynamics of atoms, molecules and clusters in the sub-picosecond regime. At SACLA, deep inner-shell multiphoton ionization by intense X-ray free-electron laser pulses has been investigated. The development of seeded FEL sources for producing transversely and temporally coherent light, as well as the expected impact on advanced science are discussed.

Fe-chalcogenideで構成されるFeTeSeは、超伝導層のみで構成される最も単純な鉄系超伝導体の一つである。最適なドープ量であるFeTeSe、及びその母物質となる非超伝導物質FeTeについて、Fe放射光核共鳴非弾性散乱法によりフォノン状態密度の温度依存性を調べた。結果、FeTeSeの超伝導転移温度の前後で明確な違いは見られず、この系においては超伝導に対するフォノンの寄与は小さいと考えられる。また、FeTeについては温度変化が観測されたが、これは構造相転移によるものであると考えられる。
