multipolarity. The experimental results are compared to shell model calculations performed using state-of-the-art realistic effective interactions and to the neighbouring nucleus
Cd. The comparison with calculations shows that adjustments of the pairing and multipole parts of the effective interaction derived from the CD-Bonn nucleon-nucleon potential are required in order to describe the properties of nuclei in the region around
Sn.

Sn beam at the RIBF laboratory in RIKEN. In addition to the already known
rays, additional
strength was observed for the first time in the excitation-energy range 3.5-5.5 MeV. Since the neutron separation energy of
Sn is low, this observation provides direct evidence for the radioactive decay of neutron-unbound states in this nucleus. The ability of
decay to compete with neutron emission was attributed to a mismatch between the wave functions of the initial and final states in the neutron emission case. These findings suggest that in the region south-east of
Sn, nuclear structure effects play a significant role in the decay of unbound states, which are instead usually ignored in the evaluation of neutron-emission probabilities in astrophysical simulations.

decay, at the RIBF in RIKEN, Japan. The experimental results were compared to state-of-the-art shell-model calculations, and indicate a dominance of prolate deformation in the low-lying states, coexisting with spherical states. The
decay of the
isobars is shown to progress in accordance to a new type of shell evolution, the so-called Type II, which involves many particle-hole excitations across energy gaps.

Ni were observed. The new experimental information is compared to shell-model calculations which include neutron excitation across the
shell. The calculations reproduce rather well the observed states, implying that a clear understanding of these low-lying excitations has been achieved.

Mn have been measured at the RIBF facility at RIKEN using the EURICA
spectrometer combined with an active stopper consisting of a stack of Si detectors. Half-lives and
-delayed neutron emission probabilities have been extracted for these decays, together with first experimental information on excited states populated in
Fe. The data indicate a continuously increasing deformation for Fe isotopes up to A=70, and interpreted to be due to the interplay between quadrupole correlation of specific neutron orbitals and the monopole component of the proton-neutron interaction.

Three types of coils will be installed in the vacuum vessel for resistive wall mode (RWM) control, error field correction and also for edge localized mode (ELM) control. Biaxial magnetic sensors have been developed, because 3D information of magnetic configuration is necessary for these controls. Also, redesigned magnetic sensors for basic information of JT-60SA plasma, e.g. one-turn loop, Rogowski coils, diamagnetic loop and saddle coils have been developed, because manufacture and installation of these sensors are much more difficult for JT-60SA than those for JT-60U. The design and the specification of the magnetic sensors for JT-60SA will be reported from engineering and physics aspects.

The JT-60SA mission is to contribute to early realization of fusion energy by supporting ITER and by complementing ITER in resolving key physics and engineering issues for DEMO reactors. Before procurements of the major components, some R&Ds for key techniques were performed. By May 2014, 23 procurement arrangements (PAs) have been launched (JA: 13PAs, EU: 10PAs) covering 87% of the total cost of the BA Satellite Tokamak Programme, and the main components have entered the manufacturing stage. In addition, the JT-60SA tokamak assembly started since January 2013. This paper summarizes the recent progress of the JT-60SA project.

Towards prediction and control of JT-60SA plasmas, we are developing codes/models which can describe physics/engineering factors, and integrating them to one code TOPICS. Physics modelling: Coupling with MINERVA/RWMaC code showed that MHD equilibrium variation by centrifugal force largely affects RWM stability and the toroidal rotation shear stabilizes RWM. Coupling with OFMC code for NB torques, 3D MHD equilibrium code VMEC and drift-kinetic code FORTEC-3D for NTV torque, and toroidal momentum boundary model, predicted the core rotation of 2% of Alfv
n speed for a ITER hydrogen L-mode plasma. Coupling with core impurity transport code IMPACT showed the accumulation of Ar seeded to reduce the divertor heat load is so mild that plasma performance can be recovered by additional heating in JT-60SA steady-state (SS) scenario. Simulations coupled with MARG2D code showed that plasma current can be ramped-up to reach
3 with MHD modes stabilized by ideal wall and with no additional flux consumption of central solenoid in JT-60SA. Engineering modelling: Coupling with integrated real-time controller showed that simultaneous control of

is possible at
4 in JT-60SA SS scenarios. MHD equilibrium control simulator MECS demonstrated equilibrium control during heating phase and collapse induced events within power supply capability of PF coils in JT-60SA.

After the disassembly of JT-60 from the torus hall was completed in October 2012, the project achieved the major milestone of start of tokamak assembly at the JAEA Naka site in January 2013 following the completion of the cryostat base in Europe and its transport to Japan. Procurement and assembly activities for components such as superconducting magnet, vacuum vessel, power supply, cryostat, cryogenic system, remote handling tool have been progressed on track towards the start of operation in 2019. For exploitation, after the JT-60SA Research Plan was issued in December 2011 in cooperation with fusion communities in Europe and Japan, the research integration activities have been also addressing the work on JT-60SA data management, validation and analysis tools. This paper overviews the latest project evolution on construction and exploitation.

A series of representative discharges of two operational scenarios, H-mode and hybrid, have been used for this purpose. Predictive simulations of core turbulence, particle transport, current diffusion and pedestal pressure have been carried out with different combinations of models. The ability of the models for reproducing the experimental data is analysed and scenario calculations for JT-60SA are performed following an optimum set of models.

Sn were observed following the projectile fission of a
U beam at RIBF, RIKEN. The wave functions of these isomeric states are proposed to be predominantly a fully aligned pair of f
neutrons. Shell-model calculations, performed using a realistic effective interaction, reproduce well the energies of the excited states of these nuclei and the measured transition rates, with the exception of the
2;6
) rate of
Sn, which deviates from a simple seniority scheme. Empirically reducing the
orbit matrix elements produces a 4+1 state with almost equal seniority 2 and 4 components, correctly reproducing the experimental
2;6
) rate of
Sn. These data provide a key benchmark for shell-model interactions far from stability.
