Transition probabilities in $$^{31}$$P and $$^{31}$$S; A Test for isospin symmetry

The mirror nuclei $$^{31}$$P and $$^{31}$$S, produced via the $$^{20}$$Ne+$$^{12}$$C reaction at 33 MeV, were studied at Legnaro Laboratory using the EUCLIDES Si array coupled with the GASP Ge array. The observed B(E1) strengths of mirror E1 transitions, provide strong evidence for breaking of isospin symmetry in the A=31 mass region. The new finding are supported and explained by state-of-the-art beyond-mean-field calculations including 2- and 3-body forces. According to these findings, the breaking of isospin symmetry originate from violation of charge symmetry in the 2- and 3-body parts of the Coulomb potential.


The Negative-parity spin-1/2 $$Lambda$$ baryon spectrum from lattice QCD and effective theory

The spectrum of the negative-parity spin-1/2 $$Lambda$$ baryons is studied using lattice QCD and hadronic effective theory in a unitarized coupled-channel framework. A direct comparison between the two approaches is possible by considering the hadronic effective theory in a finite volume and with hadron masses and mesonic decay constants that correspond to the situation studied on the lattice. Comparing the energy level spectrum and $$SU(3)$$ flavor decompositions of the individual states, itis found that the lowest two states extracted from lattice QCD can be identified with one of the two $$Lambda$$(1405)-poles and the $$Lambda$$(1670) resonance. The quark mass dependences of these two lattice QCD levels are in good agreement with their effective theory counterparts.


Survival probabilities of charmonia as a clue to measure transient magnetic fields

本論文では、時間依存する空間一様磁場中でのS波チャーモニウムの時間発展を数値的に計算し、各固有状態が磁場の減衰後にどれだけ生き残るかを示す指標(残存確率)を見積もる。このような研究は、RHICやLHCなどで行われている相対論的重イオン衝突実験において瞬間的に生成される磁場の測定(特に、磁場の大きさや磁場の寿命の測定)に役立つことが期待される。本解析では、磁場中で起こる異なるスピン固有状態の混合効果や高軌道励起状態への遷移効果が含まれており、これらの効果は最終的な残存確率に影響を及ぼす。結果として、磁場の寿命が極端に短い場合でさえも残存確率の有意な変化が見られることや、残存確率が初期状態のスピン配位に依存することが判明した。このような残存確率は、スピンパートナー同士(スピン1重項とスピン3重項)の和をとることにより初期配位に依存しない量となり、この量は$$sigma B_0^2$$の関数($$sigma$$は磁場の寿命、$$B_0$$は磁場の最大値に対応するパラメータ)として表されることを示す。

Bound states of double-heavy tetraquarks are studied in a constituent quark model. Two bound states are found for isospin and spin-parity $$I(J^P) = 0(1^+)$$ in the $$bbbar{u}bar{d}$$ channel. One is deeply bound and compact made of colored diquarks, while the other is shallow and extended as a $$BB^{ast}$$ molecule. The former agrees well with lattice QCD results. A systematic decrease in the binding energy is seen by replacing one of the heavy quarks to a lighter one. Altogether we find ten bound states. It is shown for the first time that hadrons with totally different natures emerge from a single Hamiltonian.

($$p$$,$$2p$$)反応と$$gamma$$線分光を用いて$$^{51}$$Arの束縛状態と非束縛状態の核構造研究を行った。実験結果と殻模型計算を比較することで、2つの束縛状態と6つの非束縛状態を決定した。$$^{51}$$Arの束縛状態を生成する反応断面積が小さいことから、これは中性子数32, 34の顕著なsub-shell closureが存在している確かな証拠と解釈できる。

The $$beta$$ decay of $$^{192}_{75}$$Re$$_{117}$$, which lies near the boundary between the regions of predicted prolate and oblate deformations, has been investigated using the KEK Isotope Separation System (KISS) in RIKEN Nishina Center. The ground state of $$^{192}$$Re has been assigned $$J^{pi}$$ = $$(0^{-})$$ based on the observed $$beta$$ feedings and deduced log$$ft$$ values towards the $$0^{+}$$ and $$2^{+}$$ states in $$^{192}$$Os, which is known as a typical $$gamma$$-soft nucleus. The shape transition from axial symmetry to axial asymmetry in the Re isotopes is discussed from the viewpoint of single-particle structure using the nuclear Skyrme-Hartree-Fock model.


J/$$psi$$ near $$T_c$$

We calculate the mass shift and thermal decay width of the J/$$psi$$ near the QCD transition temperature $$T_c$$ by imposing two independent constraints on these variables that can be obtained first by solving the Schrodinger equation and second from the QCD sum rule approach. While the real part of the potential is determined by comparing the QCD sum rule result for charmonium and the D meson to that from the potential model result, the imaginary potential is taken to be proportional to the perturbative form multiplied by a constant factor, which in turn can be determined by applying the two independent constraints. The result shows that the binding energy and the thermal width becomes similar in magnitude at around T = 1.09 $$T_c$$, above which the sum rule analysis also becomes unstable, strongly suggesting that the J/$$psi$$ will melt slightly above $$T_c$$.

本論文では、相互作用のない格子フェルミオンにおけるカシミールエネルギーの定義を世界で初めて提案する。我々はこの定義を用いることで、空間方向に周期境界条件や半周期境界条件が課された1+1次元時空におけるナイーブ・フェルミオン,ウィルソン・フェルミオン,(メビウス・ドメインウォール・フェルミオン定式化に基づく)オーバーラップ・フェルミオンに対するカシミール効果の性質を調べた。ナイーブ・フェルミオンにおいては、奇数個・偶数個の格子に対してカシミールエネルギーが交互に振動するという結果が得られた。ウィルソン・フェルミオンにおいては、格子サイズが$$N geq 3$$の領域で、連続理論のディラック粒子におけるカシミールエネルギーとよく一致する結果が得られた。この結果は、格子シミュレーションによってカシミール効果を測定する際に、ウィルソン・フェルミオンによる格子正則化を用いることで離散化誤差をよく制御できることを意味している。さらに、(メビウス・ドメインウォール・フェルミオン定式化に基づく)オーバーラップ・フェルミオンはトポロジカル絶縁体の表面モードに対応しており、様々なモデルパラメータ依存性も調べた。これらの発見は、対応する格子構造を持つ物性系や、格子上の数値シミュレーションによっても検証されることが期待される。

The extremely neutron-deficient isotopes $$^{177,179}$$Au were studied by means of in-beam $$gamma$$-ray spectroscopy. Specific tagging techniques, $$alpha$$-decay tagging in $$^{177}$$Au and isomer tagging in $$^{179}$$Au, were used for these studies. Feeding of positive-parity, nearly spherical states, which are associated with 2$$d_{3/2}$$ and 3$$s_{1/2}$$ proton-hole configurations, from the 1$$i_{13/2}$$ proton-intruder configuration was observed in $$^{177}$$Au. Such a decay path has no precedent in odd-Au isotopes and it is explained by the effect of mixing of wave functions of the initial state.

カリウムは陽子数が19であるため、その$$1/2^+_1$$, $$3/2^+_1$$状態はそれぞれ陽子の$$s_{1/2}$$, $$d_{3/2}$$軌道の空孔状態によって支配されている。その中性子数を$$N=20$$から増やすとこの2つの準位のエネルギー差$$E(1/2^+_1)-E(3/2^+_1)$$は大きく変化することが知られており、中性子過剰核における殻進化と呼ばれる現象のプロトタイプとなっている。これまで$$E(1/2^+_1)-E(3/2^+_1)$$$$N=30$$まで知られていたが、この研究では、理化学研究所RIビームファクトリーにて、カルシウム同位体からの陽子ノックアウト反応によって$$^{51,53}$$Kの励起状態を生成し、そこからの脱励起ガンマ線を測定することによって、$$N=32, 34$$における$$E(1/2^+_1)-E(3/2^+_1)$$を測定することに成功した。歪曲波インパルス近似計算と実験で得られた断面積の比較から、$$1/2^+_1$$, $$3/2^+_1$$状態は空孔状態によって支配されていることを確かめた。$$E(1/2^+_1)-E(3/2^+_1)$$の値は$$N=28$$で最小となり、そこから中性子数を増やすとともに増大することがわかった。これは、中心力とテンソル力による殻進化描像にしたがった振る舞いである。

Fine structure in the $$alpha$$ decay of $$^{223}$$U was observed in the fusion-evaporation reaction $$^{187}$$Re($$^{40}$$Ar,p3n) by using fast digital pulse processing technique. Two $$alpha$$-decay branches of $$^{223}$$U feeding the ground state and 244 keV excited state of $$^{219}$$Th were identified by establishing the decay chain $$^{223}$$U$$rightarrow$$$$^{219}$$Th$$rightarrow$$$$^{215}$$Ra$$rightarrow$$$$^{211}$$Rn. The $$alpha$$-particle energy for the ground-state to ground-state transition of $$^{223}$$U was determined to be 8993(17) keV, 213 keV higher than the previous value, the half-life was updated to be 62$$^{+14}_{-10} mu$$s. Evolution of nuclear structure for $$N$$=131 even-$$Z$$ isotones from Po to U was discussed in the frameworks of nuclear mass and reduced $$alpha$$-decay width, a weakening octupole deformation in the ground state of $$^{223}$$U relative to its lighter isotones $$^{219}$$Ra and $$^{211}$$Th was suggested.

Employing the real scaling method, we predict four sharp resonances, $$J^P=1/2^-$$ ($$E$$ = 5180 MeV, $$Gamma$$ = 20 MeV) and others. These are the candidates of compact pentaquark resonance states from the current best quark model, which should be confirmed either by experiments or lattice QCD calculations.

Search of QCD phase transition points in the canonical approach of the NJL model

We study the Lee-Yang zeros in the canonical approach to search phase transition points at finite temperature and density in the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model as an effective model of QCD. The canonical approach is a promising method to avoid the sign problem in lattice QCD at finite density. We find that a set of Lee-Yang zeros computed with finite degrees of freedom can be extrapolated to those with infinite degrees of freedom, providing the correct phase transition point. We propose the present method as a useful method for actual lattice simulations for QCD.


Vector and Axial-vector form factors in radiative kaon decay and flavor SU(3) symmetry breaking

We study the vector and axial-vector form factors of radiative kaon decay within the framework of the gauged nonlocal effective chiral action from the instanton vacuum, focusing on the effects of flavor SU(3) symmetry breaking. The general tendency of the results are rather similar to those of radiative pion decays: The nonlocal contributions make the results of the vector form factor increased by about 20%, whereas they reduce those of the axial-vector form factor by almost 50%. Suppressing the prefactors consisting of the kaon mass and the pion decay constant, we scrutinize how the kaon form factors undergo changes as the mass of the strange current quark is varied. Those related to the vector and second axial-vector form factors tend to decrease monotonically as the strange quark mass increases, whereas that for the axial-vector form factor decreases. When $$Kto enugamma$$ decay is considered, both the results of the vector and axial-vector form factors at the zero momentum transfer are in good agreement with the experimental data. The results are also compared with those from chiral perturbation theory to $$p^6$$ order.


Inclusive cross sections for one- and multi-nucleon removal from Sn, Sb, and Te projectiles beyond the $$N$$ = 82 shell closure

Inclusive one- and multi-nucleon removal cross sections were measured for several Sn, Sb and Te isotopes beyond the $$N$$ = 82 neutron shell closure at RIBF, RIKEN. The experimental cross sections are compared to predictions from the most recent Liege intranuclear cascade model. Severe discrepancies are observed and are discussed. Also, the measured inclusive one-proton knockout cross section for the semi-magic $$^{134}$$Sn projectile is compared to eikonal direct reaction theory calculations to assess if the suppression factors to these calculated cross sections are applicable to heavy nuclei.

Gamow-Teller $$beta$$ decay is forbidden if the number of nodes in the radial wave functions of the initial and final states is different. This $$Delta$$$$n$$ = 0 requirement plays a major role in the $$beta$$ decay of heavy neutron-rich nuclei, affecting the nucleosynthesis through the increased half-lives of nuclei on the astrophysical $$r$$-process pathway below both $$Z$$ = 50 (for $$N >$$ 82) and $$Z$$ = 82 (for $$N >$$ 126). The level of forbiddenness of the $$Delta$$$$n$$ = 1 $$nu$$1$$g_{9/2} rightarrow pi$$0$$g_{7/2}$$ transition has been investigated from the $$beta^{-}$$ decay of the ground state of $$^{207}$$Hg into the single-proton-hole nucleus $$^{207}$$Tl in an experiment at the ISOLDE Decay Station. From statistical observational limits on possible $$gamma$$-ray transitions depopulating the $$pi$$0$$g^{-1}_{7/2}$$ state in $$^{207}$$Tl, an upper limit of 3.9$$times$$10$$^{-3}$$ % was obtained for the probability of this decay, corresponding to log$$ft >$$ 8.8 within a 95% confidence limit. This is the most stringent test of the $$Delta$$$$n$$ = 0 selection rule to date.
