Separation of trivalent minor actinides from fission products using single R-BTP column extraction chromatography

FaCTの一環として、抽出クロマトグラフ法によるMA回収技術を確立するため、担体であるSiO-P粒子に抽出剤を担持させた吸着材を用いるフローシートを検討している。抽出クロマトグラフ法においても、抽出剤は溶媒抽出法と同様な特性を発揮すると考えられるため、MA・Ln回収工程とMA/Ln分離工程の2サイクルから構成して進められているのが一般的である。本研究では、高性能なMA/Ln分離用抽出剤として知られている2,6-bis(5,6-isohexyl-1,2,4-triazine-3-yl)pyridine (HEX-BTP)を担持した吸着材を用いて、模擬再処理抽残液からMA(III)を単サイクルで直接回収することを試みた。その結果、単サイクルによる分離フローシートの実現性を確認した。HEX-BTPは化学的安定性に問題があることが知られているが、抽出クロマトグラフ法の特性を生かすことによって、単純なフローシートによるMA(III)回収の可能性を示すことができた。

As a part of the Fast Reactor Cycle Technology Development (FaCT) Project, research and development of a reprocessing system has been conducted. In the system, MA(III) (= Am(III) + Cm(III)) are recovered by the method of extraction chromatography from acidic raffinate of the reprocessing process. In general, an extractant for solvent extraction can be used as an impregnated adsorbent for extraction chromatograph system. Because of the similarity of in chemical properties between MA(III) and Lanthanides(III), the MA(III) recovery processes using solvent extraction are composed of two steps; MA(III) - Ln(III) recovery and MA(III)/Ln(III) separation. In many partitioning methods using extraction chromatography, MA(III) separation from the raffinate is achieved by two column units system corresponding to the two steps. In this study, we demonstrated that the direct separation of MA(III) from the simulated raffinate with single column unit system using HEX-BTP adsorbent. The adsorbent has high separation performance of MA(III). DTPA in the feed solution as masking reagent to Pd was effective to prevent to remain of Pd in the column.
