180 K was found in non-centrosymmetric oxyfluoride CoSbOF by high-resolution neutron and synchrotron powder diffraction. To investigate this phase transition, specific heat, magnetization, and dielectric measurements were performed. Although the specific heat and dielectric constant showed anomalies at , a phase transition to ferroelectricity was not observed in the polarization hysteresis loop down to 30 K. The rotation of the CoO
F octahedron was observed at from the structural analysis using synchrotron and neutron powder diffraction data. It was found that the magnetic phase transition from paramagnetic to G-type antiferromagnetic occurred at 67 K, at which a peak was observed in the specific heat measurements, via magnetic structure analysis using neutron powder diffraction data. The magnetic moments of Co
were aligned along the tetragonal 
-axis direction with a Co moment of 2.80(1) 
at 13 K.

現在の電力消費量が多い主記憶メモリに代わる次世代の不揮発メモリとして電気抵抗変化型不揮発メモリ(ReRAM)がある。遷移金属酸化物材料を用いたReRAMでは、化学変化を伴う。今回、ReRAMを示すアルミ酸化膜に関する放射光実験を行った。その結果、アルミ酸化膜のメモリのオン・オフ状態では、酸素サイトの電子状態が変化するのに対して、アルミニウムの電子状態は、変化が見られないことを明らかにした。このことは、化学変化を伴わずに酸素サイト周辺の電子がメモリ機能に深くかかわっていることを示唆している。

原子力機構が設立された2005年、原子力機構の研究所又はセンターには230もの様々な原子力施設が建設された。原子力機構は、設立後に不要となった原子力施設について、効率的かつ体系的に廃止措置を進めている。原子力機構の研究所又はセンターにおける原子力施設の廃止措置は、2010年度から2010年度の原子力機構の第2期中期計画に基づいて進めている。第2期中期には2つの原子力施設の廃止措置を完了した。本報告では、第2期中期における原子力機構の廃止措置活動の現状と第3期中期における廃止措置計画の概要を示す。

J-PARC(Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex)では、2013年5月に50GeVメインリング(Main Ring, MR)で異常なビーム出力が発生し、ハドロン実験用の放射化した金ターゲットが昇華、施設外へ漏えいするという事故が発生した。この事故を受け、J-PARCの全施設で放射線漏えいの危険性を未然に検知、防ぐため機器異常状態の監視システムを増強した。J-PARC 3GeVシンクロトロン(Rapid Cycling Synchrotron, RCS)では、物質生命科学実験施設(Material and Life science Facility, MLF)水銀ターゲットへの出射ビームの状態異常やトンネル内ガスの放射能濃度を常時監視し検知する、ダンプ温度をインターロックに組み込みダンプ溶解を早期に発見する、リニアックからのビーム電流が設計値を超えた際に即座にビームを停止する、等の改造を行った。本発表ではその詳細について述べる。

-absorption edges. We successfully observed not only a signal that reflects the valence modulation of Mn ion, but also a magnetic signal reflecting ferromagnetism. Compared with the calculated models, we concluded that the ferromagnetism mainly originates from the magnetic moments at the Mn sites sandwiched by LaO layers.

-edge and O K-edge X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) measurements and Co L-edge resonant soft X-ray magnetic scattering (RXMS)measurement to determine the Co electronic structures associated with magnetic ordering. Co L-edge linear-dichroic XAS shows that Co takes a high-spin (HS) state and Co
takes a low-spin (LS) state. Using Co L-edge RXMS, we directly determined that an antiferromagnetic order is formed with a HS state of Co ions. Moreover, the spin and orbital angular momenta of the Co HS state are quantitatively estimated to be 1.10.1 and 1.00.1, respectively, and to align parallel in the ab plane by utilizing the cluster model calculation. The large orbital angular momentum of the Co HS state originates from the small 
-symmetry crystal field splitting of 
levels, which is comparable with the spin-orbit coupling constant of the Co 3
orbital.

). We showed a resistive switching mechanism of an AlOx-ReRAM based on the electronic states revealed by TSC. This system is expected to have high endurance, equivalent to that of dynamic random access memory (DRAM), because it is driven by increasing/decreasing numbers of electrons, similar to DRAM. The electronic structure has been simulated using first-principles calculations. We report the electronic structure of the band gap, analyzed using thermally stimulated current measurements, to evaluate the simulated results. We observed electronic states corresponding to resistance changes for the first time.

The construction of a new polarized neutron reflectometer is now in progress at the Materials and Life Science Experimental Facility (MLF) of the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (J-PARC). MLF has the world's brightest pulsed neutron and muon sources (JSNS and MUSE). The user program of MLF has been already started in 2008, and now nine neutron and two muon spectrometers are in operation. Installation of the new reflectometer was expected to be completed in March 2011. However, the construction was interrupted by the massive earthquake hitting northeast Japan, including Tokai-mura where J-PARC is located. We expect to restart the user program of the new polarized neutron reflectometer at the beginning of next year (2012).

J-PARCは実験施設への安定的なビーム供給期に移行し、3GeVシンクロトロン加速器(RCS)では、次年度以降に計画されている線形加速器(LINAC)の400MeV増強に対応したビームコミッショニングを行う予定である。今後、さらに安定かつ安全なビーム供給を実現するためには、J-PARCの稼働当初から計画されていたマシンインターフェースを考慮した効果的な操作・監視の実現や人的ミスをなくすことが必要である。以上のことから、大強度ビームに対応したビームコミッショニングに使用される理想的なアプリケーションには、どのような機能が必要なのか、基本的な部分から設計し、それらを開発する必要がある。また、より高性能のデータ収集システムも構築し、ビームコミッショニングに有用なデータ収集システムを実現しなくてはならない。RCS統合制御システムの実現を目標にした既存システムの問題点や要求される性能について検討した結果を報告する。

J-PARCリニアックはあと2年のうちに181MeV加速から400MeV加速へと増強される。本リニアックの低電力高周波(LLRF)制御システム(FPGAを用いたデジタル制御)において、400MeV加速に向けて機能向上を図ったので、それら新機能について報告する。本機能は、これまでの181MeV加速用(324MHz-RFシステム)と400MeV加速用(972MHz-RFシステム)の両方において動作する。今回、新しく多くの機能をLLRF制御システムに追加した。例えば、(1)324MHzと972MHzの両方の周波数に対応,(2)パルス先頭におけるフィードバックゲインの緩やかな立ち上げ,(3)チョップドビーム負荷補償の追加,(4)ビーム供給先変更によるビーム負荷補償のパルスごとの切り替え,(5)空洞立ち上げにおける入力RF周波数の自動チューニング,(6)空洞チューナー制御における離調度取得方法の改善(入出力位相差測定をパルス減衰波形による測定に変更)、などである。
